The prosperity of all autonomous systems, no matter how simple or complex, is determined by the pursuit of a goal. Here, urban sprawl is motivated and eclipsed by the image of the female form, representing the demands set upon us by forward progress and the need to survive. The laborers who so casually surround the figure are the authors of this ambition. They represent one's will, leaders in society or the norms we value; everything which we may unknowingly allow to lead our lives and manufacture our goals.
